The Veracity Challenge

So, Mon nominated me for this new challenge of hers called Veracity Challenge. Hmm, veracity. Interesting…

Excuse me for a moment, my beautiful and awesome blogger people. I need to Google what veracity means.

*2 minutes later*

Oh. Veracity. It means accuracy. Of course, I know that already. Google? What Google? Pfft. I don’t need Google. I’m not stupid. Ha!

Anyway, is this week the official week of challenges or what? Why are you, guys, making challenges? I didn’t get the memo! Should I make one as well? Why are you doing this to me? *sobs* But I’m not gonna back down from any challenge. No. Sophie is not a quitter. Sophie is strong. Sophie is brave. (Wait. Why am I talking about myself in third person? Stop, Sophie. Stop! See? There it is again!) In fact, she enjoys challenges and I’m sure that she’s going to enjoy this one too because, this time, instead of omitting the E’s, we’re going to omit adjectives! Yay–

NOOOOOO! Why the adjectives? I love adjectives! They make everything more beautiful and wonderful because, you know, beautiful and wonderful are adjectives! Why are you making me do this, Mon? Why? I cannot be pretty without the adjective pretty! You cannot be awesome without the adjective awesome! What kind of torture is this?

Okay. I need to calm down. While I do that, y’all read the rules first.

The rules for this challenge:

1) Write a paragraph without using a single adjective.

2) Keep the link of the original Veracity Challenge in your post (so that the creator of the challenge may receive a pingback)

3) Anyone can join the challenge, you don’t have to be nominated!

4) Nominate 6 Bloggers for this challenge

Sophie’s Response:

We cannot just remove adjectives from our lives. Adjectives help us describe the world and give meanings in a way verbs and nouns cannot. Colors are nouns but they are adjectives as well. Can you describe the color of an object without telling anyone what the color is? How do you describe colors? Do you say, “Oh, the color of this one is jumping. This one here is singing. And that one over there is laughing.” Do colors even jump and sing and laugh? Exactly. They don’t. So we cannot just remove adjectives from our lives. We need them.

Whew. Did I do well? I hope I did well. No adjectives anywhere, right? No? None? Nowhere? Please, let there be no adjectives in that paragraph. Please, please, please. *fingers crossed* Okay. I guess I can nominate people now.

Sophie Nominates:

I hope you’re up for another challenge. Peace y’all! <3 And thanks so much, Mon, for nominating me. I super enjoyed it! *winks*

          1. I took a blogcation to hang out in another sandbox for a while. Now I’m doing rennovations on this blog. Thanks for the welcome.

  1. A paragraph with no adjectives? Interesting… And of course, a Goth Knight, such as I, does not back out in any challenge… Geez, this may be the 4th challenge I’m in this week. Hehehe!
